MLU Medical Students To Acquire World-Class Hands-On Medical Training- Vice-Chancellor

 

The Vice-Chancellor of Margaret Lawrence University, Prof. Ernest Izevbigie,has said that the medical students of the University will gain hands-on medical training by leveraging the facilities available at the University’s Teaching Hospital. He said this during a two-day working visit to Margaret Lawrence University Teaching Hospital (MLUTH) at the Abuja Campus of the University, which took place from April 2nd to 3rd, 2024. Prof. Izevbigie, who was visiting the Abuja Campus for the first time since assuming duty on March 1, 2024, held a meeting with the campus staff to familiarize himself with them and get updated on the activities at the medical college.


In the company of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Asala, and the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Alejandro Rodríguez, who was his tour guide, the Vice-Chancellor proceeded on a tour of the facilities at the Teaching Hospital. Highly impressed by the sophisticated medical equipment he saw, he lauded the Vision of the Pro-Chancellor, Mr Paul Odili, and his commitment to providing best-in-class medical education and healthcare in Nigeria. 


Speaking further, he said: “Our medical students will acquire a world-class,hands-on medical education with the facilities available at our Teaching Hospital.


Margaret Lawrence University Teaching Hospital, which has been licensed by the Federal Ministry of Health to provide tertiary healthcare, boasts advanced medical infrastructure and houses some of the most sophisticated medical equipment to be found in Nigeria and arguably Africa.
