Members of the University’s Management,comprising the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Ernest Izevbigie, the Registrar, Mr Attah Timothy, and the Ag. Director of Academic Planning, Dr Emmanuel Uniamikogbo, recently paid a courtesy call to the Chancellor of the University, Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa,at his office in Asaba to discuss the progress of the University.
During this special visit, the immediate past Governor of Delta State urged the Management team to do its utmost best to bring the University to the global limelight within the first three years of its existence, as this stage is critical to its development. Speaking from his experience of pioneering threestate universities as a governor, he said, “Now is the time for the University to make critical and strategic decisions that will make the institution the cynosure of all eyes.”
Okowa applauded the Pro-Chancellor’s giant stridesin establishing such a massive University in Delta State and urged the Management to leverage this for growth. He also pledged his continued support for the University as its Chancellor.
“We need to work across sectors to develop the technology required for us to leapfrog across eons of poverty, unemployment and inequality, and in so doing to create a new world order that prioritizes humanity before profits and power.”
