CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR A POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP AT NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, UNIVERSITY OF ABUJA, AND WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY IN ST. LOUIS
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research fellowship position for 2 years. The fellowship is part of a Northwestern University/University of Abuja/Washington University in St. Louis NIH Fogarty funded Cardiovascular Research Training in Nigeria (CeRTIN), which focuses on building capacity among Nigerian investigators in cardiovascular clinical trials, implementation research, and patient centered outcomes research (PCOR). These areas, which extend beyond the traditional clinical outcomes, are critical in understanding how to better organize, deliver and improve patient-centered care within Nigerian for cardiovascular health research.
The fellowship would start August 1, 2023.

The Seed Grant for New African Principal Investigators (SG-NAPI) was established in response to the needs of researchers in developing countries, particularly those attached to institutions that lack appropriate research facilities. Under this scheme, grants can be awarded for research projects in Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Engineering, Information Computer Technology, Mathematics, Medical Sciences and Physics to Principal Investigators in the African countries lagging in science and technology identified by TWAS, to enable them to purchase the research facilities they need to enhance their productivity.
The Seed Grant for New African Principal Investigators (SG-NAPI) aims to support early-career scientists in Sub-Saharan Africa, with particular emphasis on Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

OVERVIEW
The AAU is an international non-profit, non-governmental organization founded by African Universities to promote cooperation among them on the one hand, and between them and the international academic community on the other. Established in 1967, the AAU is the voice of higher education in Africa and aims to improve the quality of African higher education and strengthen its contribution to Africa’s development by supporting the core functions of higher education institutions and facilitating critical reflections and consensus building on issues affecting higher education.
The AAU is headquartered in Accra, Ghana, has a membership of more than 420 Higher Education Institutions and is the technical implementing arm for the African Union Commission (AUC) in higher education. The Association is also the coordinating agency of the Higher Education Cluster of the Continental Education Strategy for Africa (CESA 16-25). Through our guidance, our member universities are also responsible for implementing the AUC’s Science, Technology, and Innovation Strategy for Africa (STISA 2024).
