Margaret Lawrence University’s Abuja campus played host to a distinguished guest as Bishop David Oyedepo, Chancellor of Covenant University and Landmark University, and founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, toured the institution. The visit, which took place on February 25, 2025, was marked by commendation, inspiration, and blessings.
Upon arrival, Bishop Oyedepo was warmly received by Mr. Paul Odili, the founder and Pro-Chancellor of the University, alongside members of the Governing Council and the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ernest B. Izevbigie. The university leadership, led by Mr. Odili, took the revered educationist and cleric on a guided tour of key facilities, including the state-of-the-art Margaret Lawrence University Teaching Hospital (MLUTH) and the Paul Odili College of Medicine.
While interacting with staff at MLUTH, he lauded the institution’s world-class infrastructure but emphasized that beyond infrastructure, an organization’s true strength lies in its people. He urged staff to uphold excellence in their service.
His tour also extended to other university facilities, where he observed a simulation of human body dissection using the latest edition of the Anatomage visual dissection table, the first of its kind in West Africa, alongside second-year medical students. He commended the dedication of faculty and the high standards upheld by the institution. The students were not left out, as the bishop encouraged them to strive for excellence in their academics and personal growth.
As a man of faith, Bishop Oyedepo took a moment to pronounce prophetic blessings upon the university, its staff, and students, declaring a future of global excellence. His blessings resonated deeply with the university community.
Mr. Paul Odili expressed profound gratitude to Bishop Oyedepo for taking the time out of his demanding schedule to visit. He acknowledged the bishop’s invaluable contributions to education in Nigeria and described his visit as an inspiration to the entire university community.
The visit marks another milestone in the university’s journey towards becoming a globally recognized institution.
