Overview
Our programme in Taxation is aimed at preparing professionals who can help organisations make important business decisions, by providing financial counselling and guidance. You will learn how governments set their taxes, what gets taxed, and how much and how different segments of the population are taxed differently. You will understand how different governmental institutions collect, manage and distribute taxes and how taxes vary depending on government and taxpayer needs, demands and interests. Ideas from Economics and Financial Accounting are used to boost students’ knowledge and skills in financial management which increases their employability.
Entry Requirements
- Candidates must have at least 5 O’level credits, including English, in no more than 2 sittings.
- O’Level subjects: English, Mathematics, Economics, one Science or Social Science subject, and any other subject
- UTME subjects: English, Mathematics, Economics, and any other subject
Career Prospects
As a graduate in Taxation studies, you may work as a/an Tax auditor, Tax consultant, Tax collector, Revenue agent, Tax accountant, Accounting manager, Financial manager, Financial controller, Auditing assistant, Income tax officer, etc.
BSc BANKING AND FINANCE
DURATION: 4 YEARS
